The fieuzal wines are rich and opulent, in the wake of the great wines with ageing potential which are produced on the estate. The tannins of the very full and powerful reds quickly acquire a velvety structure, wich enhance a complex bouquet with smoked notes of black fruits and wood-land.

91-93 Barrel sample. Lovely, delicious sweet fruit leads a ripe and generous wine, showing deliciously black, almost raisiny flavors. There's a pile of richness, with acidity acting as a seasoning.

Wine Advocate
The finest Fieuzal in many years, the deep ruby/purple-hued 2005 offers up scents of plums, cassis, figs, damp earth, blue fruits, tobacco leaf, smoke, and hints of truffles as well as cold steel. Medium to full-bodied, rich, and deep with good underlying acidity and ripe tannin, this beauty will be at its peak between 2010-2025.

Wine Spectator
Earthy and meaty on the nose, with lots of ripe fruit. Full-bodied, soft and round. There's loads of Pessac character, with hints of vanilla and coffee. A decadent style. Best after 2011.

Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.

I still believe it is the simplest way to rate a wine, with its origins from grade school in the United States. A wine that I rate 90 points or more is outstanding (A), and worth buying. If I rate a wine 95 points or more (A+), it is a must buy.
